  2. Is this for this year?
How are you compiling the data?

  3. How about a per-capita analysis? I mean, the three most populous states are in the top 4, so the conclusions to be drawn from the data are dubious.

  4. shouldnt matter how many people are in the state the cops need to quit shooting dogs when there are other ways of dealing with them.

  5. The police in Texas are definitely trigger happy! We need to clean house and send them to prison just like the non-police who murder (dogs and human beings included). We hear almost daily anymore of the police shooting someone because they "feared for their lives". Last one was a man who was mentally ill and double amputee who weilded a shiny pen as a weapon! I am sick of hearing about this anymore. You have to be as afraid of the police as you are of someone you suspect may be trying to confront you for their gain. For sure, if you carry a weapon, you are a dead man in their eyes. We need to clean house. Just look, Texas is leading the list on shooting dogs. Why?

  6. Years ago, I tried to compile a similar list. I found that the police do not keep an accounting of this information. I went through the FBI using gun discharge data and they clearly told me there is no requirement for the police to keep the data. All recordings are voluntary. Someone may be able to data mine from newspapers but that would likely under report at least 10 fold.

  7. It might be apporprate to consider the population of each state to make a proper ratio trend. (that data will be easy to get atleast) But it is clear some states have a training issue.

  8. List list is GREATLY underestimated. There are hundreds if not thousands of dogs being killed every year nationwide. This is NOT an isolated problem, it is systemic with US P.D.s
